After 10 years living in Oak Park and reading the Wednesday Journal, Mary Ellen joined its staff in 2015. Initially responsible for Classified ad sales and Legal Notice placements, as Growing Community Media was born as a nonprofit news organization she assumed responsibilities for Development.

Melissa joined Wednesday Journal in 2018 as the Oak Park Eats editor. Despite her food-focused career, she grew into her development role thanks to her community ties and board work. She believes our village and surrounding communities would not be the same without hyperlocal news sources. She has been an Oak Park resident for more than 20 years and resides with her husband in southeast Oak Park.
Stacy Coleman
Digital Development Manager
Stacy graduated from Millikin University and moved to Oak Park shortly after. She has been with Growing Community Media since 2021, where she manages digital content, collaborates with the development team, and picks up a variety of projects along the way. When she isn’t at work, she can be found curled up with a good book or sitcom, typically with a cat by her side.
