Your article last “Baldermann let certification lapse for one year,” is only the most recent – and perhaps most eloquent – example of why RB needs new leadership now.

The board is responsible for preventing such lapses. By allowing this to happen, it failed us. One quoted board member saw Superintendent/Principal Jack Baldermann’s failure to adhere to state law as an example of how busy he is.

The Illinois State Board of Education took a different view, identifying Baldermann three times as one who could “not lawfully be employed in an Illinois public school.”

Our board either knew and did not care about Baldermann’s defect or did not care to know. If I and my colleagues Matt Sinde and Mike Welch are elected, nothing like this will happen on our watch.

Dan Moon is a candidate for the District 208 school board.
