Longtime Brookfield resident Gloria L. Kamer, 82, died Feb. 16, 2012 at her home.
Ms. Kamer lived in Brookfield since 1964. She was a registered physical therapist who worked for more than 25 years for the Suburban School Association for Special Education of DuPage County, retiring in 1990.
She was also active at St. Barbara Church as a member of their Council of Catholic Women. She enjoyed gardening, traveling, being with her grandchildren and watching and feeding birds.
Ms. Kamer is survived by her husband of 49 years, John J. Kamer; her daughters, Chris (Carl) Fremgen and Dotti (Glenn) Gottardo; and her grandchildren, Nicholas Fremgen, Michael Fremgen, Matthew Gottardo, Lindsey Gottardo, Erin Gottardo and Kelsey Gottardo.
A funeral Mass was celebrated Feb. 20 at St. Barbara Church in Brookfield, followed by interment at All Saints Cemetery in Des Plaines.
