RB is not accustomed to losing a game let alone two on its home court. So despite splitting four games at their annual Bill VandeMerkt Thanksgiving Classic, the Bulldogs (2-2) leave the tournament for the better as their Metro Suburban Conference schedule kicks in this week.
“It was a good experience for us,” RB coach Tom McCloskey said. “We played against excellent competition.”
Miki Ljuboja had a monster tournament, putting up 89 points and 41 rebounds over four games.

Ashanti Davis’s 25 points led the Lions to a 52-22 win over West Chicago.
The Bulldogs opened their season by winning three of five dual matches at the Jacobs Tournament on Saturday. RB defeated Larkin 39-33, Dixon 58-9 and Hampshire 48-22. Wrestling up in weight in all his matches, Vince Zaccagnini led the Bulldogs with a 5-1 record including three pins.
