I noticed the trail from the Riverside-Brookfield High School to North Riverside for students is getting legs. I’d like to suggest an addendum to that trail to make use of a great resource for people from Brookfield and Lagrange Park.

I love the trail through the forest preserve. Unfortunately, to use the trail we have to put five bikes on a rack and drive a quarter mile, or risk getting hit by a car on 31st Street. We have such a great resource so close, yet the fact that we can’t get to it safely by bike is very frustrating.

Why not add to the current trail option a path from Des Plaines to Prairie along 31st? There is an existing bridge made for pedestrians over the Salt Creek by Prairie, so there has been some groundwork laid.

Please consider this for a healthier and safer Brookfield.
