Gertrude A. Charvat (nee Lewandowski), 96, of Brookfield, died Nov. 5, 2013.
Ms. Charvat was born Dec. 22, 1916 and later married Melvin J. Charvat, who preceded his wife in death.
She was the mother of Diane (Alan) Blazek, Linda (Ken) Poteracki and Sandra (Dan) Nowakowski; the grandmother of Ken (Jodi) Blazek, Steven (Alison) Poteracki, David Blazek, Kristine (Mark) Czaplicki, Kevin (Tanya) Nowakowski, Lisa Wood, Kimberly (Dan) Monahan, Jim (Missy) Blazek and Pamela (John) Fegan; the great-grandmother of 15; the sister of Laverne (George) Witt, John (Dolores) Lewan, the late Alex Lewandowski, Jane Duckett, Dominick Lewandowski, Eleanor Lewan, Irvin Lewandowski, Regina Mravik, Peter Lewandowski and Leonard Lewandowski; and the aunt of many nieces and nephews.
A funeral Mass was celebrated on Nov. 8 at St. Mary Church in Riverside, followed by interment at Woodlawn Cemetery in Forest Park.
