Margaret “Peggy” Keith (nee Sullivan), 87, formerly of Brookfield, died May 18, 2015 at Mercy Hospice in Johnston, Iowa.

She attended St. Patrick’s Elementary School and Franklin High School. Her sister, Joan Shupe, remembers her as a wonderful older sister and a role model. While in high school, Ms. Keith worked at Dague-Bartholomew Drug Store. After high school she worked at Joy Manufacturing and, in her free time, she enjoyed swimming, loved to sing, and was particularly fond of Frank Sinatra.

She met and married Tony Gordon Keith in Franklin and moved to Pittsburgh while he attended university of Pittsburgh. The family grew and lived in western Pennsylvania until the early 1960s when a job transfer brought the Keiths to Brookfield.

During the 1960s and 1970 she worked as executive secretary at Riveredge Hospital in and executive assistant at Brookfield Zoo. At the age of 55, she decided to pursue her dream of becoming a nurse and enrolled at Clarke College in Iowa. She completed her B.S. degree in nursing at St. Xavier University in Chicago.

Ms. Keith was a floor nurse at Christ Hospital in Oak Lawn and eventually secured a job in hospice, a position she found personally rewarding.

She is survived by her children, John, Dan, Chris, Katie, Tony and Bob; her grandchildren, John Jr., Jessica, Hannah, Mallory, Mary Katherine, Gabriel, Peter, Margaret, Samuel, Christopher, William, Joseph, and Elijah; three great-grandchildren; her sister, Joan (the late Robert Shupe); and her brother, Jim Sullivan (the late Tiel Eggbeer).
