Yesterday, for the first time in a while, I drove on Ogden past the old YMCA location and was stunned by the huge, beautiful brick buildings on either side of Ogden, just east of LaGrange Road.

In comparison with Brookfield’s Eight Corners it was a tale of two cities, one having executed a grand vision and the other held hostage by a retrograde element whose motto seems to be “my way or the highway” and elected officials who are OK with their pathetic stewardship.

Responsible officials have a duty to the taxpaying business owners who have their entire economic and psychological being tied up at their establishments.
