James “Jim” T. Esner, 65, of Berkeley and formerly of North Riverside, died June 30, 2020 in Elmhurst.
Mr. Esner was born Jan. 19, 1955 in Chicago. He was retired from a career as a firefighter and fire inspector for the village of North Riverside. He was a member of North Riverside Firefighters Union Local 2714
He enjoyed crossword puzzles, gambling, traveling and watching the news and The Weather Channel. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with family and friends.
Mr. Esner was the husband of Debra (nee Westphal); the father of Beth (Chris) Carroll, James T. Esner Jr., Michael Cernock, Don (Stacy) Mitchell and the late Lisa Thomas; the grandfather of Reese, Peyton, Dylan and Jake; and the brother of Jeannine (Craig) Crossin.
Services have been held. Interment was at Chapel Hill Gardens West Cemetery in Oakbrook Terrace.
