David A. Thurn, 73, of North Riverside, died peacefully on Dec. 2, 2020.
Mr. Thurn was born July 22, 1947. He wanted everyone to know how grateful he was to have been fortunate in life, both with the people he knew and the things he was able to do. He understood that in the current environment that it would not be safe to gather. He left the guidance to “do the best [we] can.”
He was the father of Emily (Steve Grujich) Thurn and Travis (Paula) Thurn; the grandfather of Isabelle, Margaret and Tristan; and the special friend of Sue Matulionis.
A virtual service is being planned for a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are appreciated to one of the following organizations: Lyric Opera, University of Chicago, Catnap of the Heart or your local food bank.
