Lee Michal (nee Bartos), 98, a 70-year resident of Brookfield and formerly of Berwyn, died peacefully with her family by her side on March 5, 2021.
She was a 1940 graduate of Morton East High School, an accomplished jitterbug dancer at Melody Mill Ballroom in North Riverside and a meticulous beautician.
Known for her authentic Czech cooking and exuberant card playing, she was above all else a devoted and compassionate wife and mother. Her wise counsel to family and friends based on commonsense instincts was cherished by all. She will be dearly missed.
Ms. Michal was the wife of the late Captain Milo Michal; the mother of Sandee Lee (Theodore S. Wright, Jr., M.D.) Wright; the sister of the late Mae Ahntholz, Rose Kropacek and Libby Marousek; and the aunt of several nieces and nephews.
