Riverside police say a local woman who was last seen by her husband nearly two weeks ago is considered “at risk” and investigators are seeking the public’s assistance in locating her.
The family of Lisa Ann Vais, 55, reported her missing on March 14, according to police. She reportedly had been missing prior to the report being made. She was last seen on March 5 leaving her Kimbark Road home to drive to Tuscaloosa, Alabama, where her son lives.
Police said Vais never arrived in Tuscaloosa and that her cellphone’s battery either has died or the phone has been turned off, because it is no longer pinging locations. The phone was last pinged by police in Murphy, North Carolina at 2 a.m. on Sunday, March 14.
Murphy is located in far southwestern North Carolina, about 295 miles northeast of Tuscaloosa.
Vais is described as white, about 5-foot-2 and 145 pounds, with blond hair and hazel eyes. She was driving a gray four-door 2015 Mazda sport utility vehicle with Illinois license plate number 1742048.

Anyone with information as to Vais’ whereabouts is asked to call their local police agency or to call 708-447-9191 for the Riverside Police Department. Anonymous tips may also be sent to crimetips@riverside.il.us.
Riverside police have entered Vais into the national databank for missing persons.
