The LaGrange Park Fire Department is seeking on-call firefighters.
They are paid positions.
“This is a great opportunity for those with other careers who wish to serve our village, and for those who want to eventually have a career in the fire or emergency medical services,” said Fire Chief Dean Maggos in a statement.
Employees no longer have to be residents of La Grange Park. Applications from residents in adjacent communities who live near one of the area’s four fire stations may also apply.
Those interested or who want to learn more are encouraged to attend an informational session at 7 p.m., Monday Oct. 23 at Fire Station No. 1 at 447 N. Catherine Ave.
“Our department provides very meaningful, important work, in an exciting and fun atmosphere,”Maggos said. “We also provide excellent training for candidates, as they are taking on an important responsibility to the community.”
