Brookfield police confirmed a pedestrian was struck by a car late on Thursday.

Around 10:30 p.m., the pedestrian was crossing the street in a crosswalk when a southbound car on Prairie Avenue turned east onto Washington Avenue and struck them, said Terry Schreiber, one of Brookfield’s deputy police chiefs.

The pedestrian was transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries while the driver of the car was issued multiple citations, Schreiber said.

Police do not yet know more detail about the pedestrian’s condition since the accident, he said.

This is a developing story. Check back later for possible updates.
