Gerald ‘JT’ Tarbox

Gerald Alan “JT” Tarbox, 74, died peacefully on April 10, 2026, in Chicago. JT was a talented on-air radio personality and voice-over artist, known for his smooth and mellifluous voice. He was also a gifted artist, singer and actor.

He is survived by his wife, Beverly Tarbox (née Hicks); his son, Nico Tarbox; his brothers-in-law, David Richards, Robert (Grace) Hicks, Blaine Daugs, and Jeffrey (Laurie) Daugs; his sister-in-law, Cheryl (Robert) Browne; and many extended family.

He was preceded in death by his father, Richard Tarbox; his mother, Mildred Tarbox (née Hartwig); his stepmother, Gertrude Tarbox (née Klucznik); and his brother, James (Janie) Tarbox.

JT’s life was deeply rooted in faith; he embodied Christian love and will be fondly remembered by his church families at Sts. Peter and Paul and Trinity Lutheran Church for his kind and loving nature, his generosity, and his delightful sense of humor.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 16 from 4 to 8 p.m. at Hitzeman Funeral Home & Cremation Services 9445 31st St., Brookfield. Mass will be celebrated on Friday, April 17 at 10 a.m. at Saints Peter and Paul Lutheran Church, 250 Woodside Road, Riverside. Private Inurnment at Mt. Emblem Cemetery, Elmhurst.
