John George Scheer, 82, of Brookfield, died on Aug. 22, 2026. Born on Jan. 27, 1944, he was a #1 lifelong Chicago White Sox fan, attending over 50 home opener games. He also was a trivia quiz master.
John was the husband of Beverly (nee Kos); the father of Keith (Lori) Scheer, Brian (Anji) Scheer and Renee Scheer; grandfather of Jackie, Brian, Amy, Justin, Mason Kodrich and Anya Kodrich; great-grandfather of Theo, Momo and Lucious; brother-in-law of Carole (Bob) Hanus, Robert (Cynthia) Kos, and the late John (Joanne) Kos; and the uncle of many nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, Sept. 19, from 1 to 4 p.m. at Loyal Order of Moose, 7536 S. Harlem Ave., Bridgeview.
