A juvenile was transported to the hospital with minor injuries Tuesday after he was struck by a school bus in Riverside, police said.
Public Safety Director Matthew Buckley on Wednesday said the juvenile was riding his bike and crossing Woodside Road at the intersection of Park Place, near L. J. Hauser Junior High School, when the incident occurred. The bus was traveling north on Woodside Road and had a green light at the intersection when the minor went to cross the road, and it struck him in the crosswalk.
Buckley said police know the bus had the green light from witnesses who saw the incident and video surveillance that was obtained from the scene.
The juvenile was transported to the hospital on Tuesday with only minor injuries, Buckley said.
“It looked worse than what it was,” Buckley said of the incident.
