Brookfield Deputy Police Chief Michael Kuruvilla graduated from the Northwestern University Center for Public Safety’s School of Police Staff and Command at a ceremony held at the school on Jan. 17.

The program is an intensive 10-week session that prepares law enforcement managers for senior positions by combining academic principles with practical applications. Kuruvilla was one of 43 students in the semester-long class, which began last September.

Kuruvilla, who was named deputy chief last fall, is a 14-year veteran of the Brookfield Police Department.
