A-Advancements Dental Care rounded out a near perfect season as champions of the Brookfield National Little League Majors.

It was a great performance by the entire team for an exciting 27-1 season. In the championship game, A-Advancements in Dental Care came from behind (only the third time this season) to win the game by a score of 8-4, securing an invitation to the annual Overholt tournament in August.

J.T. Evans pitched a complete game, giving up only five hits in six innings. He also went 3-for-3 at bat with a single, double and triple. Max Recht went 2-for-2 with a double in the third to tie the game. Andy Suzuki got the game-winning RBI with a single in the fourth, scoring Paul Landahl.

Other offensive feats included T.J. Bongiorno, who went 3-for-4 with a homerun in the fifth inning.

Since their starting shortstop, Jake Johnson, was unable to play while he nurses an elbow injury, the team relied upon their second string to take home the gold. John Kingzette who was a third string shortstop, only playing about six innings at that position all year, played flawlessly and turned an unassisted double play in the fifth.

Second baseman Jon Stevanovich and third baseman Paul Landahl were both in the same predicament but each had great plays; Jon robbed a hit in the fourth inning and Paul robbed one in the fifth.

With a runner on second in the fourth, Jack Scott, the youngest player on the team, made a tremendous throw from left field to the catcher to get the runner out at home and end the inning. But one of the most exciting defensive plays was in the sixth when catcher Andy Suzuki made a heads-up play from behind the plate and picked-off a runner at first base to end the game.
