Brookfield is now a one-party town. With VIP disbanding this summer after a disastrous seven-year run of elections where none of its candidates were chosen by voters, PEP remains the only game in town. At least for now.

While it’s unlikely that another political party will surface prior to the 2013 consolidated election, we hope that independent candidates with a strong vision of where Brookfield should be headed will throw their hats in the ring.

It’s always valuable to have alternate points of view, as long as they’re serious and as long as the candidates, first and foremost, are committed to serving the residents of Brookfield as their elected officials.
