The village of Brookfield was listed at the second-most popular Chicago suburbs in terms of home sales in 2015, according to an article published Jan. 26 in Chicago Real Estate Daily, which is affiliated with Crain’s Chicago Business.

Brookfield, according to info provided to the publication by Midwest Real Estate Data, saw a nearly 35-percent increase in home sales in 2015, second only to Woodridge (36.6 percent).

According to the article, many home buyers were seeking a good value, and that a large inventory of foreclosures properties in recent years that were purchased and rehabbed by investors likely helped jumpstart sales.
