Ames Elementary School community students and families raised just under $4,500 this fall to help fund a new Gaga Ball pit and other outdoor learning opportunities – while at the same time getting a chance to duct-tape Principal Todd Gierman to a wall and hit an Ames faculty member in the kisser with a whipped-cream pie.

In all, 10 teachers got pied in the face, with parents spending $20 per pie – 74 in all – to pie the teachers. Another 20 students were picked from a dollar raffle to take aim and fire away with a pie.
