Shirley J. Hackl, of Aurora and formerly of Riverside, died Nov. 10, 2012 at her home.
Ms. Hackl was raised in Berwyn. Following her marriage to Herbert G. Hackl, the couple moved to Riverside in 1947 and lived there until 1995. She was a member of the Riverside Chapter of the order of the Eastern Star.
From 1995 until 2005, she lived in Gurnee. It was during that time, on April 25, 2003, that Mr. Hackl died. She lived for the next five years in Naperville, moving to Aurora in 2010. Ms. Hackl was also a member of the Naperville Women of the Moose. She also enjoyed playing golf and tennis, doing crafts, gardening, reading and traveling.
Ms. Hackl is survived by her daughters, Linda (the late Henry) Grueber and Drusilla (Arthur) Flowers; her son, Gary Hackl; and her grandchildren, Justen Hackl, Jessica Hackl and Peter Flowers.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, Nov. 18 from 3 p.m. until the time of a 6 p.m. funeral service at Johnson Funeral Home, 3845-47 Prairie Ave., Brookfield. Interment will be on Monday, Nov. 19 at Mount Auburn Cemetery in Stickney.
