Yvonne Terese Fielmann (nee Frisch), 89, of Riverside, died on May 12, 2025. Born and raised with a spirit of curiosity and joy, she lived a life filled with passion, purpose, and love. From her early days on the softball field to her career as a physical education teacher to her business management style, she inspired others through her energy and example. She was a proud graduate of Harrison High School and Northern Illinois University.
She was rarely seen without a novel in hand — or a New York Times crossword puzzle. Her competitive side came alive on the golf courses of Naples, Florida’s Rookery and Hammock Bay or “up north” at the Riverside Golf Club. A proud and fiercely loyal Chicago Cubs fan, she lived by the Cubs fan’s mantra; “Wait till next year.”
Her family was the center of her world, and she cherished time with Meghan, Colleen, Erin, and Shannon, during spring breaks on Marco Island. She shared a once-in-a-lifetime love story with her high school sweetheart, Ron. They built an enduring partnership, a beautiful example of soulmates united.
Yvonne was the wife of Ronald O. Fielmann; the mother of Ronald (Katie) Fielmann and Robert Fielmann; the grandmother of Meghan (Tom) Anselmo, Colleen (Robert) Quilico, Erin (Ryan) Weinerth and Shannon Fielmann; the great-grandmother of Thomas, Aiden, Abigail, Brooks, and Declan; the sister of Frank (Phyllis) Frisch, Charlene (the late Eugene) Byrne and the late Bruce (the late Patricia) Frisch; and the aunt of many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, May 31 from 9 a.m. to time of service at 11 a.m. at Hitzeman Funeral Home Ltd., 9445 31st St., Brookfield, IL 60513. Interment at Concordia Cemetery, Forest Park.
