Pilar Joseph Antuna, 94, of Riverside, died on Nov. 9, 2025. Born on July 19, 1931, he was a U.S. Army veteran, inducted Feb. 18, 1952, who served in Korea as an infantry corporal in the 7th Division, Unit 0017. A Purple Heart recipient, wounded in action by a missile strike while deployed as a weapons assault crewman, he returned to duty in March of 1953 and was honorably discharged from service on April 2, 1960.

He enjoyed telling stories about his experiences. He was the first person you would pick to join your team. A good-natured soul, he found joy in sweets, music, and storytelling. His presence brought comfort and laughter. He was the one you would want in your corner and by your side.

He is reunited with his late wife of 68 years, Esther C. Together they raised three children, Pilar (Mariane), Alberto (Loida) and Diana (Peter). He was the grandpa of Alexis (Jesse), Valerie (James), Carli, the late Justin Roesinke, Kayla (Joseph), Emma (Yaros), Rebecca (Andres), Kristen (Sean), and Rachel (Jon); great-grandpa to Cade and expected baby boy Bullaro; brother of Eduvijes (Jorge) Mota and the late Elena (Henry) Salgado, late Salome (Gerardo) Gomez and late Josefina (Joseph) Escareno and the late Felipe, Gavino, and Gloria; and the uncle and great-uncle to many nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held on Nov. 12 and 13 at Ivins/Moravecek Funeral Home, 80 E. Burlington St., Riverside.

Burial with military honors at Fairview Memorial Park, Northlake.
