Gregory “Greg” A. Molinari, 54 of LaGrange, formerly of LaGrange Park and Brookfield, died peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on Dec. 23, 2025. He spent his childhood years in Brookfield and always remembered his elementary school friends from Lincoln School. He spent his high school and college years in LaGrange Park and graduated from Lyons Township High School, then went on to get a degree from College of DuPage and earned a bachelor’s degree from Elmhurst College.

He was well known in the community from his career at Brookfield Public Library for almost 30 years as a circulation clerk at the front desk. Life was never easy for Greg after suffering a pediatric brain tumor at the age of 11, which left him visually impaired with medical challenges.

He was an avid Bingo patron for years at St. Barbara and then at the American Legion Hall in LaGrange, where he sat every week at a front table, which allowed him to see the bingo board.

He will be missed by family and friends from all avenues in his too short life. Greg was known by all as “the guy with the great smile” and the one who had the most to complain about but never complained.

Greg’s father, Gary, preceded him in death in 2021, and he is survived by his mother, Lois; his sister, Jennifer (Erich) Lams and their children, Ashley (fiancé Jake Lutsch), Jacob and Matthew; his brother David (Nicole) and their children, Ariana, Kash and Harper; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, friends and extended family members from all over the country, who supported Greg throughout his life and will miss him deeply.

Visitation was held on Dec. 28 at Hitzeman Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 9445 31st St., Brookfield, IL 60513. Interment Private.

In lieu of flowers, memorials appreciated to LSF Brookfield Public Library, 3541 Park, Brookfield, IL 60513 or a charity of your choice in Greg’s honor.
