Brookfield woman killed in crash
Cook County Sheriff’s Police charged a 29-year-old Justice man with felony drunken driving after his 2002 Mercury Sable crossed into oncoming traffic while westbound on Archer Avenue in unincorporated Lemont on April 10 at 1:45 p.m. and struck a 2011 Subaru Outback, killing 94-year-old Lillian Linduska, of Brookfield.
Arts education critical for students
I am disappointed to hear of the impending decision to reduce Mr. James Baum to a 0.9 FTE status. I urge you to reconsider your actions. Cutting his status lets down students and sets a very dangerous precedent for the future of quality education at Riverside-Brookfield High School

We, the village of Riverside Parks and Recreation Board, and fellow D96 parents, would like to encourage all D96 parents and D96 Board of Education members (present and future) to support a before- and after-school program provided by the Riverside Parks and Recreation Department.

Mr. James Baum is an extraordinary teacher who cares about students, Riverside-Brookfield High School and this community. If music theory doesn’t run due to numbers, another music class should be offered.

McKenzie focused on a state finals berth
Marvin McKenzie is determined to make some noise in his senior season with the Riverside-Brookfield High School boys track and field team. McKenzie has qualified for the state meet three times and competed twice in the preliminaries. Now his ultimate goal is a berth in the state finals and the chance to earn a top-nine, all-state medal.
