A beautiful night was celebrated by all who ventured out to see the arrival of Santa and to kick off the holiday season in downtown Riverside on Dec. 5. As in the past, the Riverside Holiday Stroll was a huge success.

Considering Stevenson is one of the best high school basketball teams in the country, Lyons Township knew winning their annual Thanksgiving tournament would be a tall order at best. Predictably, Stevenson won the title, defeating LTHS 71-39 along the way, but the Lions bounced back to win three games in a row.
Fenwick wins John Malone Thanksgiving Tournament
There were a lot of tears in the eyes of players and spectators alike Saturday night at Fenwick High School. The emotions weren’t a result of a win or loss, but rather the completion of the first annual John Malone Thanksgiving Tournament, which the host Friars won with a 4-0 record, capped by Saturday’s 60-43 victory over Morton.
LTHS girls basketball cruises to Thanksgiving tourney title
The Lyons Township High School girls basketball team dominated the competition en route to winning its own Thanksgiving tournament. Led by senior center Hope Miller and senior guard Marisa Kopping, the Lions defeated DePaul Prep 65-9, Shepard 61-24 and Downers Grove South 46-27.
